I am thrilled to tell you about this fantastic book...
For every mom who has ever wondered if all the little things she does in a day make a difference, Once There Was a Mom offers hope and encouragement. Take it from someone who, like you, has read story after story, sung lullaby after lullaby, and even taken the batteries out of the toys once in a while! The truth is, little things are much more important than we may think. With contemporary, stylized illustration by artist Destin Cox, this charming gift book will bring a smile to the face of mothers of any age. Look how adorable this book is...
About the author: Emily Watts is a senior editor at Deseret Book as well as a favorite Time Out for Women speaker and the author of several books, including Being the Mom: 10 Coping Strategies I Learned by Accident, Confessions of an Unbalanced Woman, and The Slow-Ripening Fruits of Motherhood. She is the joyful mother of five children and grandmother of ten. Emily and her husband, Larry, live in Taylorsville, Utah.
Ihave had the chance to listen to Emily Watts speak and meet her in person. She is so awesome I love her! I was really excited to read this book. It is so cute and a great short read. It made me smile and left me feeling uplifted. This little hardcover book is amazing! It has a special place in my heart as a mom and grandma.
Another thing I enjoyed was the humor Emily added to this book. I laughed at the part about the tired mom trying to relax by taking a hot bath. "Mom! Mom!" the children would cry, pounding on the door. "Let us in!" I am lucky to have a helpful hubby that when this happened often to me he would entertain our boys until I got done taking my bath. :) I plan on buying some of these for gifts. I thought of how grateful I am for my angel mom who is now in heaven as I read this. Moms truly are such a blessing to us all. Once There Was a Mom for sure gets a thumbs up from me!
